Progress with Hampton Primary School Kitchen Garden
The Club, in conjunction with Brighton Rotary Cub has provided support for the expansion of the Kitchen Garden Project at Hampton Primary School.
Recently, some members reviewed the progress with Anne Hostein, teacher in charge of the project and year 6 students. The raised garden beds have been installed and filled with compost awaiting planting, the fruit trees have been planted, the BBQs, benches and seats will be installed over the next school holidays and the watering system is awaiting installation.
Year 3 & 4 students have been designing and painting murals to be displayed on the fences and years 1 & 2 are propagating seeds which in turn will be transferred to the garden beds upon reaching seedling stage.
All in all, the entire school is actively involved in advancing this project and upon completion, we will be invited to the official opening. It is a most impressive project receiving enthusiastic support from students and staff.
