School Readiness Screening
The most recent screening session was held on Saturday 20th April at Hampton Primary School. We want to extend a huge thanks to the team from Uni of Melbourne Audiology and Physiotherapy who conducted the hearing and large motor skills assessments of pre-school age children from across the Bayside area.
The results indicate how important projects such as this are, with 20% of the children screened for hearing now referred to have follow-ups with their family doctor or specialist audiologist.
It was great for parents of children soon to start school to get feedback on their hearing and large motor skills development, ensuring they are ready to start school.
Thank you to all the Masters students from the Uni of Melb Audiology and Physiotherapy teams who participated in this project, to the Bayside City Council for their support, and Hampton Primary for making available their school premises for the day. We'd like to also thank Club members who volunteered and helped out on the day as well.
We will be holding another screening session later in the year, and will advise when dates become available.
