COMMUNITY PROJECTS
Spreading Christmas Cheer to Men in Bayside
We've been out and about spreading some Christmas cheer in our local community. It has become a tradition of our Club over the past few years to brighten up Christmas for men in the community. A huge thank you to Club member Geoff Tickner and his wife Prue for sourcing, packing and dropping off 50 men's gift sets to the team at BayCISS to distribute in their community. BayCISS play a fantastic role providing a range of services and support to people in need, including low income and vulnerable people, and Hampton Rotary were pleased to once again be able to spread some Christmas cheer to the men in our community with their support. Thanks to Simon Kenny Pharmacy for obtaining the products and pricing them at cost or below.
Christmas shop for Bayside Community Information and Support Services (BayCISS)
This year BayCISS has seen a significant increase in demand for food and services. Before Christmas they will assemble and distribute approximately 200 Christmas food hampers to families in need. Bev, Lance and Liz purchased three shopping trolleys full of Christmas goodies and delivered them to BayCISS. At the same time, Rotary Clubs of Sandringham and Beaumaris were also dropping off goods. Great Rotary Clubs think alike?
November Bayside Farmers’ Market
We had a great turnout for our market on Saturday 26th November, and would like to thank all the patrons who donated generously at the entry gates. Proceeds from these donations will be used by Hampton Rotary to contribute to providing Christmas goodies for the families coming along to the upcoming community Bayside Family Christmas Event for disadvantaged Bayside families. Thanks to all the stallholders and volunteers and the dedicated patrons who supported the market this month.
Next Bayside Farmers’ Market – Saturday 24th December
The next Bayside Farmers Market is coming up on Christmas Eve - Saturday 24th December - 8am-1pm, at Trey Bit Reserve (Jetty Road), Sandringham.
