Visit to St Kilda Mums Warehouse – Tuesday 3rd December
Hampton Rotary has supported St Kilda Mums over the past couple of years, by providing gift packages to needy mums. This month, we will be visiting their warehouse in Clayton as well as packing Christmas gift packs.
St Kilda Mums is an organisation which recycles nursery equipment including cots, prams and car seats, as well as clothes and other baby essentials. They give the items to people who are facing a variety of challenges and they want them to feel uplifted when they receive something from them. St Kilda Mums see it as giving a gift, packed with love, to provide practical support and show that people care about them.
On Tuesday 3rd of December, Hampton Rotary will be visiting the St Kilda Mums warehouse in Clayton and will be given a tour of their facilities, and we’ll hear from their volunteers about how they provide help to mums and families in need. We will then pack some Christmas gift packs that will be distributed to needy mums. Some light snacks will be provided to those attending.

International Projects Update
Second Container for Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital Now On the Way to Cambodia
Hampton Rotary has once again been proud to be involved in assisting to send a second container of medical equipment and supplies to the Nokor Tep Women’s Hospital in Cambodia. After a lot of hard work from the fabulous volunteers from the Nokor Tep Foundation, Rotary Donations In Kind and the Hampton Rotary Club, the container is now packed and on it’s way.
All the equipment and supplies were made available from the Rotary Donations In Kind warehouse in West Footscray. This has been another great hands-on project that the Club has been thrilled to be involved with that we can see truly makes a difference to needy communities.
Tonga Pediatric Hearing Feasability Study
Currently the Club’s International Committee is investigating the feasibility of rolling out the very successful paediatric hearing project to Tonga.
Hampton Rotary is preparing a feasibility study to investigate how to develop and implement a countrywide screening capability to be based out of the four main island hospitals in Tonga. This would potentially involve intensified ‘on-the job’ training, by Australian based technicians and supply of specialised equipment to conduct the screening.
A group of Hampton Rotarians will visit Tonga in early 2020 to meet with relevant Government and medical staff to investigate how to progress this project to reality.
